Chumba Lama was born high up in Tsum Valley/Himalaya. As his father was a fighter of the Tibetan guerrilla he did not stay with the family. The mother was so poor that they had hardly food to eat. When he was seven years old, his uncle took Chumba long way downhill on foot to Kathmandu to ensure him a better future. Arriving there the uncle died, so Chumba ended up being a street boy for nearly one year. Luckily, one day Tibetan monks collected him and took him to Swayambu Monkey Temple, were he became a monk. Even young as he was he was adored as the best chanter in that monastery. He had the chance to work for many years as an attendant of Shamar Rinpoche.

Now Chumba Lama is living in Germany with his family, being a professional tour guide to Nepal & Tibet as well as a gifted musician. He is teaching Tibetan Breathing Yoga in Germany and USA.

In 2012 Chumba Lama will be the tour guide for  pilgrimages in Sri Lanka and in China, together with Dr. Jes T.Y. Limmore...
